She is the daughter of Harvey Welker a Native American father and Julie Welker an African-American mother. Her mother is an agent in real estate while her father holds a degree in engineering. She attended the Germantown Friends School in the city of Germantown in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, in 1994. She went to Harvard College, where she earned a Bachelors of Arts degree. Welker is married to John Hughes a well-known marketing director for Merck at Philadelphia and they have two children. The couple began dating. John her husband is four years less than her. Their relationship was progressing so well that they took their relationship to a new level. The couple was married on the 4th of March 2017. Their wedding took place in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
