In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi as well as Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track during the course of one year. It was a mix of reggaeton, pop and rock has not just brought attention to reggaeton music but it was also an attraction towards Latin music generally. There were in 2015 two songs that were predominantly Spanish-language on the Billboard Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the height of Despacito's popularity, 19 tracks mainly in Spanish made it to the Billboard Top 100. By 2020 the number will increase to 41 tracks from this category. Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito came out in the year 2017. Then, popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny for MIA (2018) while Madonna has collaborated with Maluma on Medellin. In 2020, several Reggaeton stars were dissatisfied with the trend of the genre towards mainstream. However, a younger generation Rauw Alejandro, was keen to keep the trend going. The genre often incorporated elements from electronic dance music, along with other styles.
