Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian and television host most well-known as host for The Talk, a popular talk show that airs on daytime TV. Sheryl Underwood, born in Arkansas was raised in Arkansas in the area of Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl has a very troubled background. She spent the majority of her childhood taking care of her younger sister Frankie suffering from an illness called polio. Growing up, she had a difficult relationship with her mom. Sheryl said she was once told that her mother attacked one of the parents to her son as she was getting close to her. When she graduated from college Sheryl became a military officer. Her passion was comedy. She was the first woman to be a finalist in the contest Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. In 1992 she made her TV debut as a regular on the HBO show Def Comedy Jam. She appeared in the show Oh Drama! as the host in 2000. In 2011, she began being a co-host for the talk show The Talk. In addition, she has appeared on fictional shows such as Bulworth Niki as well as Beauty Shop.
